Home UAE Dubai Dubai to makes its own public holiday announcements The emirate has decided to announce its own holiday dates by Staff Writer April 24, 2018 Dubai’s Department of Human Resources is to begin making its own announcements for public holidays under a new resolution issued on Tuesday. Under the plans, the department will announce the public holiday dates declared by the “competent authorities in the UAE”. “The Department shall specify the dates concerning the declared holiday, taking into consideration the working mechanisms and hours of governmental bodies and organisations,” according to state news agency WAM. The director general of the Department of Human Resources will issue the necessary circulars to implement the provision. The resolution comes into effect from the date of issuance. The resolution follows the UAE’s first public holiday this year, Isra’a Wal Miraj, which took place on April.
