Accordingly, creative entrepreneurs, talents and craftsmen in Al Quoz can now apply for this visa, as per the latest directive by Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, chairperson of Dubai Culture. The cultural visas were first approved in 2019 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to encourage creatives to settle in Dubai. The aim was to retain writers, artists and creators, which contribute to strengthening Dubai’s position as an incubator for creativity and innovators, and a preferred destination for cultural talents. It also has supporting infrastructure such as outdoor exhibitions spaces as well as restaurants and shops. In March, Dubai Culture revealed that since the announcement of the Cultural Visa in 2019, it had received 261 visa applications from 46 countries.
