Home GCC UAE Dubai reveals new public parking rates for commercial areas Up to 30,000 spaces will be affected by gulfadmin March 10, 2016 Dubai has announced a new parking fee structure for commercial areas, impacting around 30,000 spaces. Under the new tariff rates, street parking in category one public areas costs Dhs 2 for 30 minutes, Dhs 4 for one hour, Dhs 8 for two hours, Dhs 12 for three hours and Dhs 16 for four hours. In public parking lots the new rate is Dhs 3 for one hour, Dhs 6 for two hours, Dhs 8 for three hours, Dhs 12 for four hours, Dhs 15 for five hours and Dhs 20 for 24 hours. This compares to rates of Dhs 2 for one hour, Dhs 5 for two hours, Dhs 8 for three hours and Dhs 11 for four hours for street spaces subject to the previous tariff in the secondary parking category. The tariff rate for parking lots in the secondary category is Dhs 2 for one hour, Dhs 4 for two hours, Dhs 5 for three hours, Dhs 7 for four hours and Dhs 10 for 24 hours. For multi-level parking the rate is Dhs 5 per hour. The tariff rates are applicable 14 hours a day from 8am to 10pm on working days but not on Fridays and official holidays. The new seasonal parking rates are Dhs 1,400 for three months, Dhs 2,500 for six months and Dhs 4,500 for 12 months. For lots the rates are Dhs 700 for three months, Dhs 1,300 for six months and Dhs 2,500 for one year. For multilevel parking this rises to Dhs 2,000 for three months, Dhs 4,000 for six months, Dhs 8,000 for one year and just Dhs 300 for three months for students. Category one includes 30,000 spaces of the emirate’s 130,000, constituting 23 per cent of the emirate’s paid parking space. Roads and Transport Authority chairman and director general Mattar Al Tayer said the rates were designed as a solution to high parking demand and to encourage the use of public transport. 0 Comments
