Previously, the organisers had said that they planned to hold the race without any spectators at the venue as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. There have been a number of high-profile events in Dubai including the Dubai International Boat Show, Arabian Travel Market and Art Dubai which have been rescheduled on account of the Covid-19 virus.
