Dubai’s Arabtec Expands, Opens New Headquarters In Belgrade

Dubai based contractor Arabtec has announced plans to open a regional headquarters in the Serbian capital of Belgrade, as it seeks to expand internationally.

The new headquarters will serve as a launch pad for the company’s planned expansion into the countries of the wider Balkan region, the company said in a statement.

Arabtec said it is already in advanced discussions with developers regarding projects in the region.

Hasan Abdullah Ismaik, managing director and CEO of Arabtec said: “We see great potential for Arabtec in the Balkan region.

“Commercial ties between the Balkan region, in particular with Serbia and the UAE have been growing steadily in recent years. We are very pleased to extend national links into a new economic sector.”

Arabtec, which operates across the Middle East and North Africa region, has won several contracts since Abu Dhabi fund Aabar acquired a majority stake in the firm in 2012.

The company announced earlier this week that it had won a Dhs5.7 billion contract to construct Red Sea Astrarium, a themed entertainment resort in Aqaba, Jordan.

Arabtec’s other contracts include the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi and a regeneration project in Doha.

Late last year, Arabtec also revealed plans to set up real estate development arms in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
