Dubai’s Creekside 18 project on track for 2019 completion

The residential project is located at the mega Dubai Creek Harbour development

Creekside 18, the two-tower waterfront residential project located at Dubai Creek Harbour, is on track for completion next year, contractor Al Naboodah Construction Group (ANCG) has revealed.

ANCG, a subsidiary of Al Naboodah Group Enterprises, won the contract from the project’s developer Emaar last year.

Launched by Emaar Properties in September 2015, Creekside 18 is situated in the Island district of the mega Dubai Creek Harbour project.

It consists of 480 residential units with one, two and three bedroom apartments.

As part of the contract, ANCG is constructing the two, 37-storey towers with residential units, penthouses and commercial units, along with external works and landscaping.

Overall works are “on-track” with the substructure and superstructure near completion, the contractor said in a statement on Tuesday.

A total of 70,000 cubic meters of concrete has been poured and 18,000 tonnes of steel used so far.

Structurally, 33 of the 37 floors are complete and one apartment with total fit-out will be finalised this month, ready as a showroom, ANCG added.

The entire project is due for completion in mid-2019.

“Projects of this type come with their own unique challenges due to working at extreme height and the need for getting heavy equipment on high levels,” said Moustafa Hassan, project director at ANCG.

“We have reached the 33^rd level without any lost time accidents which is quite an achievement on a project of this scale and scope.”

The wider Dubai Creek Harbour project – a joint venture of Emaar Properties and Dubai Holding – is located next to Ras Al Khor wildlife sanctuary, and is a 6 sq km mixed-use development with waterfront resorts, a yacht club and a marina as well as retail and commercial space.

Along with Creekside 18, it will also feature other residential projects such as Creek Gate, Harbour Gate, The Cove, Dubai Creek Residences, Harbour Views and Creek Horizon homes.

It will also feature a 4.5km-long Creek Boardwalk offering high-end retail and leisure options. Other amenities include event spaces, galleries, parks and water features.

The development will also host what is slated to become Dubai’s new tallest building – The Tower at Dubai Creek Harbour.

The $1bn mixed-use building will form the centerpiece of the Dubai Creek Harbour master-development and is anticipated to be completed by 2020.

The Tower will beat Burj Khalifa (828 metres) as the tallest building in the world, but the exact height of the new building has not yet been disclosed.
