Home Industry Energy Dubai’s DEWA awards Dhs129.55m of transformer contracts The transformers will help expand the city’s power network by Staff Writer August 6, 2017 Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has awarded Dhs129.55m ($35.2m) of contracts for a total of 1,570 transformers to expand the city’s electricity distribution network. HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and CEO of DEWA, said the transformers would increase the capacity, efficiency and reliability of the electricity distribution network in Dubai and ensure a stable supply of power. The contracts follow a number of other recent project allocations including Dhs6.3m for water reservoirs in July and Dhs95m for low voltage cables in July.
