The three will bid for the government contract for the depot, which is part of Egypt’s 6th of October City in Giza governorate. The depot is intended to improve the flow of cargo in the country by acting as a central distribution point. Under the memorandum, DP World will lead the consortium in the bidding process and become the depot operator if it wins the contract. “The partnership is aligned with the UAE leadership’s directive to share with neighbouring nations the global experiences that our country has gained over the years,” said DP World group chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem.
