Home Industry Transport Dubai’s DP World unit, IGY Marinas to build superyacht marina project The project in France will offer 12 superyacht berths for the world’s largest vessels by Staff writer September 20, 2017 Dubai port operator DP World’s subsidiary P&O Marinas and international marina operator and developer IGY Marinas have announced a new superyacht marina project in France. The project will be located in Sète, south of France, near Montpellier, the Côte d’Azur, and the Balearic Islands. It is an official port of entry, fully ISPS compliant and offers access to restaurants and shops. Once open, the project will offer 12 superyacht berths for the world’s largest vessels of up to 328ft with a maximum draft of 23ft. Other features include electrical facilities, fuel service arrangements, in-slip grey and black water pump-out, security, and wifi, a statement said. Guests will have access to watersports and recreational activities such as paddle boarding, kayaking, mountain walking and biking. They will also have access to the IGY Anchor Club Strategic Partners, which offers services such as provisioning, crew training, insurance, emergency health services, maritime travel and satellite communications. Construction on the project is slated to start at the end of the year, the statement added. Under the agreement, IGY will provide a global network of commercial and tourist services while P&O Marinas will provide the technical and crew support. Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, group chairman and CEO of DP World, confirmed that the project will provide quality services for owners and operators of superyachts, creating a “lifestyle destination for yachting enthusiasts, residents and tourists”. Tom Mukamal, CEO of IGY Marinas, added: “We have been actively pursuing numerous marina opportunities in the Mediterranean as part of our strategic plan to enhance our global network of berthing options for the superyacht market. “As the world’s largest superyacht market, Europe already hosts many of our customers and we are excited to begin our first phase of this expansion in the south of France.” 0 Comments
