Home Transport Aviation Dubai’s Emirates to codeshare on Krakow, Catania flights Flydubai announced the new flights last month by Staff Writer January 9, 2018 Dubai carrier Emirates has confirmed that it will codeshare on sister airline Flydubai’s upcoming flights to Krakow in Poland and Catania in Italy. Flydubai announced the new flights last month and will begin services to Krakow on April 8 and Catania on June 13. The route to Catania, located on the Italian island of Sicily, is the carrier’s first in southern Europe. The partnership of Dubai’s two government-owned airlines was first confirmed in July and could eventually see both carriers operate from the same terminal at Dubai International Airport. Read: Emirates and flydubai could operate from single terminal at Dubai airport Read: Emirates, flydubai announce new codeshare routes One issue facing passengers for now is that the minimum connection time between Flydubai’s Terminal 2 and Emirates’ Terminal 3 is two hours, making some codeshares unviable. Emirates said 165,000 passengers had benefitted from codeshare flights in the first two months since they began on October 29. Together the two carriers fly to more than 216 destinations and have a combined fleet of over 317 wide-body aircraft and Boeing 737s.
