Speaking to a robot when calling up your bank has been the case for a while now. But the UAE’s Emirates NBD is taking it to another level, by making it possible for customers to chat with Amazon’s Alexa about banking services. The bank says customers will soon be able to discuss banking matters with their Amazon Alexa devices, such as how much money they have in their account or their credit card balance. Emirates NBD claims it is the first bank in the Gulf region to offer voice banking with Amazon Alexa. Other things Emirates NBD customers will be able to do with Amazon Alexa will reportedly include finding out about payment due dates, find out more information about their accounts, and receive information about deals and offers. Earlier this year, the bank announced it was deepening its collaboration with Amazon Web Services. It also follows its 2017 announcement that it planned to spend at least Dhs1bn on digitising banking services by 2020. Emirates NBD is one of the largest banks in the UAE. It had total assets of about Dhs537.8bn ($146.2bn) as of June 30, 2019, according to the bank. 0 Comments
