Home Transport Aviation Dubai’s Emirates signs codeshare deal with LATAM Airlines Brazil for 17 routes Emirates currently serves two Brazil gateways – Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro – with daily services by Staff writer May 2, 2019 Dubai airline Emirates has announced a new codeshare partnership agreement with LATAM Airlines Brazil for 17 domestic routes in the South American country. Those travelling to/from the 17 Brazilian cities will now be able to connect in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro with Emirates’ flights to Dubai, a statement said. The agreement will also offer Emirates passengers more choice to travel to/from Brazil. Emirates currently serves two Brazil gateways with daily services to and from Sao Paulo, operated by the A380, and Rio de Janeiro, which will be operated by the newly-refurbished Boeing 777-200LR from June 1, 2019. Passengers can also fly to Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile (from June 1, 2019) onboard the Boeing 777-200LR from Rio de Janeiro. “We’re pleased to establish a partnership with LATAM Airlines Brazil providing our passengers with increased choice, flexibility and ease of connection to different cities within Brazil,” said Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Divisional SVP, Strategic Planning, Revenue Optimization and Aeropolitical Affairs. “We look forward to continue supporting the country’s growing inbound tourist numbers and business trade opportunities,” he added. Brazilians now don’t need to get a pre-entry visa while travelling to the UAE – it is issued immediately upon arrival, free of charge, for up to 90 days.
