Home Transport Aviation Dubai’s Emirates starts Zagreb flights The route is served by a three-class B777-300ER by Dominic Ellis June 1, 2017 Emirates’ first flight to Zagreb took off from Dubai International Airport this morning, making Croatia its 39th European destination. EK129 departs Dubai 8.15am and arrives in Zagreb at 12.20pm local time, and the return flight, EK130, departs Zagreb 3.35pm and arrives in Dubai at 11.05pm. The route is served by a three-class B777-300ER with eight first class private suites, 42 lie-flat business class seats and 310 economy class seats. The Dubai carrier is targeting business and leisure traffic, not only from the Middle East but also connecting travellers from Asia and Australasia – it has secured bookings from 36 countries in June already. Emirates’ timing deliberately coincides with the busy summer season which will see travellers flock to the Croatian capital, enjoying its 19th century architecture, parks, theatres, museums and art galleries. Cargo business will also be important as Croatia is renowned for its fruit and vegetables, and the hold will also contain pharmaceutical consignments. The airline is growing its network in Eastern Europe and the Balkans, and it serves neighbouring Hungary with direct flights to Budapest, also on Boeing 777s. 0 Comments
