Dubai carrier Emirates will not be accepting any non-Kuwaiti passengers on flights from the emirate to Kuwait.

The directive is effective from February 7 until February 20, 2021, the carrier said in a travel update on its website.

“Customers holding tickets with Kuwait as a final destination will not be accepted for travel at their point of origin. Exemptions are first‑degree relatives of Kuwaitis, domestic workers travelling with Kuwaiti sponsors, and domestic workers registered on Belsalamah platform,” Emirates added.

Kuwait has imposed a two-week ban on the entry of foreigners into the country from Sunday, February 7.

Only close relatives of Kuwaiti citizens and domestic workers are exempt from the decision.

In a similar move, Emirates is not accepting any non-Saudi national passenger on flights from the emirate to the kingdom as well. This directive, however, has been put into effective February 3 onwards, until further notice.

Emirates will also operate flights from the UK to Dubai only to fly back UAE citizens and residents stranded in the country, in the aftermath of the ban UK imposed on all direct passenger flights from the UAE effective January 29.
