Home Industry Transport Dubai’s RTA announces free parking during National Day holidays RTA has also announced revised timings for all its services during the long weekend by Zainab Mansoor November 28, 2019 Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced new timings for public transport during the upcoming UAE National Day holidays. All paid parking zones (except for multi-level parking terminals) will be free from Sunday, December 1 to Tuesday, December 3, the RTA announced. It has also announced revised timings for public buses, metro, tram, marine transport, driving schools, testing and registration centres and its customer happiness centres. Services will resume on Wednesday, December 4. However, the smart centre at RTA’s head office on Umm Al Ramool, will remain open 24/7 during the holiday period. Dubai Metro and Tram On December 1-2, the red line of Dubai metro will operate from 5am to 1am (the following day). Meanwhile, the green line will operate from 5.30am till 1am (the following day). The tram will be in service from 6am to 1am (the following day). Image Courtesy: RTA Twitter Public buses (Dubai bus) At main stations, buses will operate from 4.25am to 00.29am (past midnight), and at Ghubaiba from 4.14am to 00.58am (past midnight). At subsidiary stations, buses will operate at Satwa station from 4.45am to 11.03pm, except for C01, which will be operative round-the-clock. Bus service timings at auxiliary stations are as follows: Al Qusais: 4.31am to 12.08am (past midnight) Al Quoz Industrial Station: 5.05am to 11.35pm Jebel Ali Station: 4.58am to 11.30pm Metro link buses Metro link buses at Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta, Burj Khalifa, Abu Hail and Etisalat Stations will be in service from 5am to 1.10am (the following day). Note: The timings of metro link services are aligned to the timetable of the metro service. Intercity Intercity bus service and commercial buses (at Al Ghubaiba) will be running 24/7 to Al Jubail station, Sharjah, and from 4.36am to 1am (the following day) to Abu Dhabi. Subsidiary stations At subsidiary stations, the bus service will operate at the following times:- Union Square station: 4.25 am to 1.25am (the following day) Sabkha station: 6.15am to 1.30am (the following day) Deira City centre station: 5.35am to 11.30pm Karama station: 6.13am to 10.23pm Al Ahli stadium: 5.55am to 10.15pm External stations At external stations, the bus service on start on the following timings: Sharjah (Al Taawun) route: 5.30am to 10pm Ajman route: 4.30am to 11pm Fujairah route: 5.23am to 9.39pm Hatta route: 5.30am to 9.30pm Image Courtesy: RTA Twitter Marine transport From Friday, November 29 to Tuesday, December 3, marine transport means will operate as follows: Water bus at Marina station (Marina mall, Marina Walk, Marina Terrace, Marina Prominade): 12.00 noon to 00.00 (midnight). Jaddaf Water Transport station to Dubai Water Canal station: 12.15pm to 5.45pm Dubai Water Canal station to Jaddaf station: 2.10pm to 7.40pm Dubai Ferry will make five journeys between Al Ghubaiba and Dubai Marina station – the service will start at each station at 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm and 6.30pm. Al Ghubaiba to Sharjah Aquarium Stations: 2pm to 10.30pm Sharjah Aquarium to Ghubaiba: 2pm to 9pm Sheikh Zayed Road station (tourist service): 4pm to 10pm Abra will be sailing at Dubai Creek stations as follows: Al Ghubaiba and Sabkha in both directions: no service Sabkha to Fahidi to Old Deira Souq (on both directions): 10am to 1.00am (the following day) Old Dubai Souq-Baniyas (in both directions): 10am to 1.00am (the following day) Baniyas-Al Seef stations (in both directions):10am to 1.00am (the following day) Sheikh Zayed Road station (tourist service): 4pm to 10pm Jaddaf to Dubai Water Canal Station and Al Wajeha Al Maia station – Marasi station: 11.05am, 12.35pm, 2.05pm, 03.55pm, 5.20pm, 6.30pm and 8.20pm. Marasi Station to Sheikh Zayed Road station: 11:25pm, 12:55pm, 2.25pm, 4.15pm, 5.35pm, 6.50pm and 8.40pm Dubai Water Canal station to Jaddaf station, Marasi station and Al Wajeha Al Maia station: 12.15pm, 1.45pm, 3.15pm, 5.05pm, 6.15pm, 7.40pm, and 9.30pm Sheikh Zayed Road station to Marasi station: 11.50am, 1.20pm, 2.50pm, 4.40pm, 5.55pm, 7.15pm, and 9.05pm Electric abra will be operating between Dubai Festival City, Baniyas, and Al Seef from 4pm to 11.30pm and at Burj Khalifa from 6pm to 11.30pm Air-conditioned abra between Jaddaf and Dubai Festival City will be operating from 8am to 00:00 (midnight). Technical testing service centres will be closed from December 1-3. UAE is celebrating its 48th National Day on December 2.
