The memorandum of understanding was agreed with Emaar following its experience managing the observation areas of the world’s tallest building the Burj Khalifa. The company will handle all technical and administrative aspects of the attraction under its At The Top unit. The frame is expected to have a paperless ticketing system, with customers utilising their smartphone to gain entry after purchasing tickets electronically. Work on the project started in 2013 and is expected to be completed by the end of this month after a delay Dubai Municipality director chairman Hussain Nasser Lootah attributed to a decision to bring in higher quality materials including stainless steel gold cladding that is more fire resistant. The official opening will then take place in November, Lootah confirmed to Gulf News last month.
