The 140-storey, 420-room Rove Downtown Dubai is designed to feature the city’s cultural heritage. The rooms are spread across 26 sq metres with designer mattresses and 48-inch TV screens. One third of the rooms are also interconnected, to target bigger families. Features include free wi-fi access, late checkout at 2pm, pool, gym, a boutique convenience store and a 24-hour self-service laundromat. The hotel also includes meeting rooms with lunch options during business events such as grab and go bento boxes. Corporate director of Operations at Emaar Hospitality Group Chris Newman said: “Rove Downtown Dubai marks the beginning of a new journey for us, inspired by the city of Dubai, past, present and future. “Rove Downtown Dubai is novel on many counts but largely because it sets a new norm in midscale hotel pricing, making it at once affordable yet highly distinctive in its design excellence, location, amenities and fuss-free service.” Rove Hotels, a joint venture by Emaar and Dubai developer Meraas, plans to have 10 hotels with more than 2,660 keys operational in the emirate by 2020. Seven of the properties have already been announced. They include a twin-tower complex in the Satwa neighbourhood with hotel rooms and 157 serviced residences, and 270-room, 286-room, 384-room, 270-room and 458-room properties in Port Saeed, Oud Metha, Dubai Marina, Al Jafiliya and at Dubai Parks and Resorts respectively. Emaar’s hospitality unit is expanding rapidly and recently unveiled plans to launch 35 new hotels and serviced residences under its Address, Vida and Rove brands. Under the plans, the company will add 14 new hotels and 10 serviced residences in the UAE and five and six internationally. In total the company will add 4,542 new hotel rooms and 5,082 residences to its portfolio, with 3,835 and 4,249 in the UAE respectively. 0 Comments
