Home UAE Dubai Emaar, Vogue Plan Second Dubai Fashion Event In October The three-day Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience, to be held in Dubai Mall, will include a talent hunt for 20 emerging designers. by Aarti Nagraj May 20, 2014 Dubai developer Emaar Properties announced that it is again teaming up with Vogue Italia to hold the second edition of the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience this year. The three-day event, from October 30 to November 1, will take place at The Dubai Mall, and will include in-store promotion by 300 plus participating outlets, live music and lifestyle activities, Emaar said in a statement. The fashion event will see eight established international talents, selected by Vogue Italia, display their newest collections during the event. It will also showcase emerging talent from across the world, with Vogue Italia and BySymphony.com scouting for 20 emerging designers. “Last year was a huge success in terms of attendees, talents, and funds that were raised,” said Franca Sozzani, editor in chief of Vogue Italia. Abdulla Lahej, group CEO, Emaar Properties added: “The inaugural edition of Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience elevated Dubai’s status as a global fashion hub while also serving as a platform to highlight the talents of young designers from around the world. “This year, we are expanding its scope… It will drive creative dialogue, encourage more young fashion designers to make their mark internationally and further establish Dubai and The Dubai Mall’s credentials as the must-visit destination for fashion retail.” Dubai, which is seeking to become a global fashion hub by 2020, currently hosts a slew of fashion events such as Dubai Fashion Week and the bi-annual Fashion Forward. The emirate is also developing a mega Dubai Design District, dubbed d3, which will include art offices, workshop areas, hotels and residential developments. The first phase of the project, worth Dhs4 billion, is scheduled to be operational by early 2015. To be operated by TECOM Investments, the project is aimed at becoming a full-service commercial hub for design industry-related organisations. 0 Comments
