Home Transport Aviation Emirates And CAE Open Second Flight Training Centre New facility at Dubai Silicon Oasis will initially house five full-flight simulator training bays by Dominic Ellis May 27, 2013 Emirates and CAE today formally opened their modern pilot training facility at Dubai Silicon Oasis. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief executive, Emirates Airline and Group, unveiled a plaque at an event attended by customers and officials. The new facility will initially house five full-flight simulator training bays with three already installed, substantially increasing the region’s pilot and technician training capacity. The simulators offer “breakthrough visual realism, cockpit replication and high-fidelity avionics simulation with flight and ground-handling characteristics indistinguishable from an operational aircraft”. The centre also features 10 briefing rooms, three classrooms and a hi-tech computer-based training room. The centre is the second training centre owned and operated by Emirates-CAE Flight Training (ECFT) in Dubai, complementing the one in Al Garhoud. Completed last month, the 55,000sq ft centre brings Emirates and CAE’s joint investment in the region to over $260 million in the last 10 years. 0 Comments
