Emirates to celebrate Year of Zayed through inflight magazine

Dubai-based airline Emirates will share the legacy of the late His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan with a global audience in 2018 through its award-winning official inflight magazine, Open Skies.

The monthly magazine – published by Motivate – will mark the Year of Zayed throughout 2018 by featuring the achievements of the UAE’s Founding Father within its pages including a host of classic images and stories of the country’s former President that celebrate his role in establishing the federation as well as his local, regional and international successes.

Each article in Open Skies will also tell readers how they can explore the region and witness Sheikh Zayed’s vision come to life.

The magazine is available to about 5 million passengers who fly with Emirates each month. The airline has also added a bespoke livery of the late HH Sheikh Zayed to 10 of its aircraft, with five Airbus A380s and five Boeing 777-300ERs carrying the celebratory adornment throughout the year.

The coming year was declared the Year of Zayed by the current President of the UAE, HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with 2018 marking 100 years since the birth of the nation’s Founding Father. Throughout the year, a series of initiatives, events and awards will take place across the UAE that promote the values of tolerance, progression, environmentalism and charity that defined his leadership.
