Home Transport Aviation Emirates To Drop Kiev Flights Dubai carrier decides to call time on Ukraine service which launched in January by Dominic Ellis July 9, 2014 Emirates is dropping flights to Kiev from August 1. Online bookings through emirates.com are still available for the last week of July but there is “no availability” from August. The route, launched as a daily service in January on A340-500 aircraft (click here), was scaled back to four flights a week in early May amid ongoing political unrest (click here). It is a disappointment for Emirates which anticipated carrying between 120,000-140,000 passengers in its first year. It marks the airline’s second suspension this year after flights to Clark International Airport in the Philippines were dropped in May (click here), although its global network continues to grow rapidly with daily flights starting to Chicago in August, which will be followed by new services to Oslo and Brussels in September. Low-cost carrier flydubai continues to serve Kiev (Boryspil and Zhulyany airports) although it has suspended flights to Donetsk. 0 Comments
