A fifth daily non-stop service is being introduced between Dubai and Bangkok, swelling services to 35 flights a week from March 31. These services, along with recently launched Phuket flights, take the number of weekly Emirates departures from Thailand to 56. A third daily Jakarta service will start March 1 along with a fourth daily service between Dubai and Kuala Lumpur on March 31, complementing thrice-daily Manila services which started January 1. Singapore saw the introduction of a 517-seat A380 in December, while flights from Ho Chi Minh City were launched in June last year. Salem Obaidalla, Emirates’ senior vice president, Commercial Operations, Far East and Australasia, said the additional frequencies demonstrates the importance of the Thailand market to the airline, as it continues to scoop up east-west traffic, funnelling passengers through Dubai. The new Bangkok service which will provide an additional 105 tonnes of weekly capacity in each direction and take Emirates SkyCargo’s weekly cargo capacity each way to 750 tonnes. Thai exports include electronic parts, garments, cosmetic products, pharmaceuticals and perishables, while goods travelling in the other direction include vehicles and automotive parts, clothing and general foodstuffs. 0 Comments
