Emirates increases services to Cairo

Dubai airline Emirates has announced plans to increase capacity on its services to Egypt, with the launch of four additional weekly flights to Cairo.

The four new weekly flights will begin operating from October 29, a statement said.

Similar to the current service between the two cities, the new flights will be operated by a 360-seat Boeing 777-300ER in a three-class configuration featuring eight private suites, 42 business class and 310 economy class seats.

The new service, flight EK925, will leave Dubai at 8.50pm and arrive in Cairo at 11.05pm. The return flight, EK926, will depart Cairo at 12.45am and arrive in Dubai at 6.15am.

The additional flights will increase the number of frequencies between the two cities to three each day, and take the total number of weekly flights to 21.

They will also boost capacity by 1,440 seats each way per week, and 23 tonnes of additional capacity for cargo per flight.

“We will continue to invest in Egypt, empowering the local economy and helping it expand its business and tourism presence.”

Emirates started operations to Cairo in April 1986 with three flights a week.

In line with increased demand, the airline now operates 17 weekly flights between Cairo and Dubai.

Globally, the airline employs more than 2,000 Egyptian nationals across the Emirates Group, including over 800 cabin crew.
