Emirates Post Group Company (EPGC) announced that it has appointed Badr Al-Olama as the chairman of the organisation.

He replaces Mohammed Sultan Al Qadi in the role, a statement said.

Al-Olama is the current executive director of the UAE Clusters at Mubadala’s Investment Company. He also spearheads the organising committee of the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS), a platform jointly established by the UAE and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

He also serves as the chairman of Strata Manufacturing and Sanad Group, and a board director at Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat), Mubadala Health, Shuaa Capital, Oumolat Security Printing, as well as automotive and energy joint ventures in Algeria.

In his new role, Al-Olama is tasked with the diversification, digitalisation and expansion efforts at EPGC, aimed at enhancing the presence of its brands in local, regional, and international markets.

Al-Olama said he will focus on the next phase of business transformation for Emirates Post Group. “I am confident that, as a team, we can make a substantial contribution to the diversification of the nation’s knowledge and innovation-based economy, as well as drive sustainable growth towards the next 50 years.

“We will continue to pursue a strategic and innovative approach that embeds a performance excellence mindset to intensify the growth and transformation of Emirates Post Group,” he added.

Earlier this year, Emirates Post Group announced that it had expanded into Israel and tied up with its local counterpart, Israel Post, to facilitate access to cities and destinations across the country.

People in the UAE can now use EPG’s postal and international premium services to send items to Israel.
