Home Transport Aviation Emirates Receives 10th Boeing 777 Freighter The Skycargo division will move its operations to Dubai World Central’s Al Maktoum International Airport in May by Dominic Ellis October 24, 2013 Emirates SkyCargo has taken delivery of its 10th Boeing 777 Freighter. The aircraft can hold 103 tonnes of cargo and its main cargo deck is the widest of any freighter aircraft at 3.7 metres, which enables it to hold large consignments. The cargo division will move its operations to Dubai World Central’s Al Maktoum International Airport in May, where it will operate a dedicated freighter cargo terminal that can handle 700,000 tonnes of cargo annually. Nabil Sultan, Emirates divisional senior vice president, Cargo, said it now offered shippers more flexibility when moving larger cargo volumes and operating charter flights, and its freighter operation complements the airline’s bellyhold capacity on all wide-bodied passenger aircraft. Emirates SkyCargo also operates two B747-400ER cargo aircraft. 0 Comments
