Dubai-based carrier Emirates has resumed scheduled passenger services to Manila, Clark and Cebu in the Philippines.

Starting September 6, the Philippines lifted its travel ban on a total of 10 countries, including the UAE and Oman.

Using its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, Emirates operates seven weekly services to and from Manila, five weekly flights to Clark and twice weekly flights to Cebu, which are available to book for Filipinos and foreign nationals.

However, due to mandates by the authorities in the Philippines, restrictions apply on the number of passengers permitted per flight to several destinations in the country.

In addition to the scheduled commercial flights, Emirates has also obtained the approval from the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines to operate Special Commercial flights in September to Manila.

The airline will be operating special “Bayanihan” flights on EK332 on September 18 and 25, to provide additional capacity for its citizens who want to fly home from the UAE. However, only Filipino citizens currently in the UAE are eligible to book seats on these special flights.

Additionally, all passengers on these “Bayanihan” flights must present a negative RT-PCR result, taken 48 hours prior to boarding. They will also be subjected to a 10-day institutional quarantine upon arrival in the Philippines, with the date of arrival being the first day. That quarantine will be followed by a four-day home-based quarantine.

The airline added that allocations of quarantine facilities at designated hotels will be coordinated by the carrier along with Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and the Department of Tourism.
