In a statement, Emirates advised passengers travelling to the UK and Ireland to check the status of their flights. British Airways cancelled several short-haul flights from Heathrow, while Glasgow Airport closed. Trains were also cancelled across the country while heavy traffic congestion was also witnessed throughout the country.
