Emirates Starting A380 Mauritius Flights In December

Emirates will start daily A380 services between Dubai and Mauritius from December 16.

EK701 will fly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays and EK3701 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, departing from Dubai International Airport at 0310 and arriving in Mauritius at 0940.

The return flight EK702 and EK3702 will depart Mauritius at 1820 and arrive in Dubai at 0110 the next day.

The confirmation of the new superjumbo follows the ‘one-off’ A380 flight that the airline operated to Mauritius in March to mark the island’s 45 years of independence, although it will continue to operate a second daily service on three-class B777-300s.

Thierry Antinori, Emirates’ executive vice president and chief commercial officer, said it has seen growing leisure traffic demand and the extra capacity will serve multiple destinations across its global network.

The Minister of Tourism and Leisure of Mauritius, Michael Sik Yuen, said the double-decker aircraft will not only increase seat capacity but help Mauritius tap into new and emerging markets.

Emirates has been flying to Mauritius since 2002 with three flights per week.
