Home World Africa Emirates Upgrades Lusaka And Harare A three-class Boeing B777-300ER will be deployed from February, providing more seats and cargo space by Dominic Ellis January 3, 2013 Emirates is deploying a larger aircraft on its joint Lusaka and Harare service from February 1. A 354-seat Boeing 777-300ER, in a three-class configuration, will replace the 237-seat Airbus A330-200 on the route, adding more than 1,600 seats a week. The airline has handled more than 55,000 passengers on the route in its first year. The upgrade also provides more cargo space for commodities such as vegetables, flowers, pharmaceuticals and mining equipment. “Our Lusaka and Harare service has come of age and with demand continuing to increase, this is the right time for Emirates to be expanding its capacity,” said Jean Luc Grillet, Emirates’ Senior Vice President Commercial Operations for Africa.
