Etihad Lays On First Class To India

Etihad Airways is starting a new three-class evening flight between Abu Dhabi-Mumbai, marking its inaugural first class service to India.

The 292-seat Airbus A340-600 aircraft will seat 12 passengers in Diamond First Class, 32 in Pearl Business Class and 248 in Coral Economy.

New mid-afternoon services to Mumbai and New Delhi on Airbus A320s, each seating 136 passengers, have also been introduced as the Abu Dhabi carrier ups capacity amid strengthening demand.

The Abu Dhabi-Delhi evening service has also been upgraded to a 254-seat Airbus A330-200 aircraft, with 18 business class and 236 economy class seats. The expanded schedules come into immediate effect.

The new Etihad flights will also be marketed by Jet Airways as an extension of the airlines’ existing codeshare partnership.

President and chief executive officer of Etihad Airways, James Hogan, said these increases enable the airline to not only serve local traffic demands but also deliver much greater international connectivity for business and leisure travellers.

“Travellers from India will have more opportunities to connect with flights to destinations including Abu Dhabi, the GCC, Middle East, Africa, Europe and North America, while those flying to India will benefit from additional seats and more schedule options, providing greater travel flexibility,” he said.
