Etisalat Launches iPhone 5S In UAE November 3

Etisalat is launching the much-awaited iPhone 5S and 5C for its UAE customers today, at all its outlets across the emirates.

The hotly-anticipated new Apple products come with the new A7 64-bit chip, an 8-megapixel camera, a 4-inch retina display and a new fingerprint scanner on the home button.

The UAE telecom’s business centres, including the Main Business Centre and Al Ain Business Centre in Abu Dhabi and the Deira and Al Wasel Business Centres in Dubai, will open late on Saturday for the launch.

“Enabling immediate access to the latest technology and advanced products to our subscribers in the UAE is part of our customer-driven business strategy,” said Khaled El Khouly, chief marketing officer, Etisalat, UAE.

“Given the huge demand for the latest iPhones, we wanted to offer an early opportunity to users to own the latest devices, combined with attractive packages, at the most competitive prices.”

Prices for the iPhone 5S start from Dhs2,749 for the 16GB model, Dhs3,149 for the 32GB model and Dhs3,549 for the 64GB model.

The iPhone 5C, Apple’s first low-budget smartphone, will retail at Dhs2,349 for the 16GB model and Dhs2,749 for the 32GB model.

Etisalat is also running a trade-in option, allowing its customers to exchange their old iPhone 5 or 4S devices for discounted rates on the new range.

“In the UAE, I expect the next generation of iPhone to do well just because we have a population that expects the newest products,” said Ashish Panjabi, COO of Jacky’s Group, speaking at the time of Apple’s iPhone 5S launch.

“We’ve traditionally seen very high smartphone penetration and it’s not uncommon to see people with two smartphones…given that there are still a lot of iPhone 4S devices in the UAE, I expect that a lot of people would be in the market to upgrade their iPhone especially since the iPhone 4S is now about two years old.”
