The organising body said it was offering manufacturers of Arabic perfumes, essential oils, bukhoor and other fragrances from across the GCC an opportunity to tap into visitors to the expo site and sell their products at select outlets across the UAE including dedicated Expo retail stores. One producer may also be selected to create a distinctive scent for men and women for the event. The process is online and open to businesses of any size with the initial stage for companies to register their interest closing on April 20. The tender is third of up to 40 licensed product categories that will be put out to tender following the launch of campaigns to find souvenir and food products producers. Dubai Expo 2020 puts out tender for Emirati food products Dubai Expo 2020 puts out tender for Emirati food products Expo 2020 is expected to accept tenders for more than 5,000 products and is encouraging SMEs to participate with flexible terms. “Expo 2020 Dubai will be a global destination and we are looking for fragrance producers from around the world to come forward as we want a range of scented items that will reflect the varied tastes of our millions of visitors,” said Najeeb Al-Ali, executive director, Bureau Expo 2020 Dubai. “However, this is also the first World Expo in Middle East, Africa and South Asia, so we also want products to reflect our heritage as well. This region is famous for its perfumes ingrained in our traditions.” The UAE fragrance market was estimated to be worth Dhs1.5bn ($423m) in 2015, according to Euromonitor International, while the personal care market in the wider Middle East and Africa was estimated to be worth Dhs100bn ($27.1bn). 0 Comments
