Expo 2020 Dubai: Tickets now on sale

Tickets to Expo 2020 Dubai are now on sale, with three ticket options now available for visitors.

One-day tickets are priced at Dhs95 ($26) and multi-day passes, with unrestricted entry for 30 consecutive days, are priced at Dhs195 ($53).

Season passes, which allow holders unlimited entry for the entire six months of Expo 2020, cost Dhs495 ($135), with Mastercard debit and credit holders receiving a 25 per cent discount.

Also available are family packages, priced at Dhs950 ($258), which offer unlimited access for two parents plus a nanny, with additional benefits including discounts on food and beverage, a 25 per cent discount on five additional tickets, and an advance purchase photograph voucher worth Dhs125.

Children under the age of 18 and students holding a valid student ID from any academic institution in the world will be given free entry. Visitors aged 60 years and above can also enter for free.

Complimentary tickets will also be available for people of determination, with their companion receiving a 50 per cent discount.

Tickets can be purchased via expo’s official website and through more than 2,500 authorised ticket resellers, including online travel agents, tour operators, hotel groups and airlines from over 100 markets around the world.

Organisers also announced that all UAE residents aged 18 and above who purchase an Expo 2020 season pass or family package before August 14 will be entered into a draw for the chance to win a place for themselves and a guest at the opening ceremony on September 30, 2021.

Fifty winners will be announced in the first week of September via Expo 2020’s social-media channels.

The opening ceremony will take place at Al Wasl Plaza, which features the world’s largest 360-degree projection surface.

Expo’s global entertainment line-up so far includes AR Rahman’s women’s ensemble the Firdaus Orchestra; Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor; Emirati singer Ahlam; Russian ballet threatre group Bolshoi; and the Expo Beats programme – a monthly music festival.

Overall, the event plans to hold up to 60 live events a day – including film nights, poetry readings, art activations, musical concerts, cultural tours, parades and interactive journeys – and will have more than 200 food and beverage options.

Expo 2020 will run for six months, from October 2021 until April 2022, and is expected to attract more than 25 million visits in total.
