The Saudi Supreme Court revealed that the month of Sha’aban will conclude on Friday, May 26, with the first day of Ramadan falling on Saturday, local media reported. The UAE’s moon-sighting committee announced that it could not sight the crescent moon for the holy month on Thursday evening, official news agency WAM reported. The committee will again meet on Friday, May 26, to spot the crescent moon. According to reports, the last day of Ramadan is likely to be June 24, with the first day of Eid Al Fitr falling on June 25. The actual dates will be based on sighting of the moon. Ramadan, the ninth month in the Islamic calendar, is a time when Muslims across the world fast from sunrise to sunset.
