First residential units in Dubai Creek Harbour to be handed over next year

The first residential units in the upcoming six square kilometre mega-development Dubai Creek Harbour will be handed over in the first quarter of 2019, it was announced on Monday.

Nearly 90 per cent of the construction has been completed on the Dubai Creek Residences, a six-tower residential development with 872 units located in the Creek Island Dubai community.

Located between the yacht club, pools, a marina and a boulevard, the project is expected to welcome over than 4,000 residents next year.

Work on all supporting infrastructure is progressing as per schedule with easy access from the Ras Al Khor thoroughfare already in place, a statement said.

The wider Creek Island Dubai waterfront development is anticipated to be home to 33,500 residents when completed.

Work on the other residential developments launched in Creek Island Dubai is also progressing as per schedule, the statement added.

These include Creekside 18, with 500 apartments, which is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2020. Over 40 per cent of the construction is now complete.

Meanwhile Harbour Views with 762 apartments, also set to be handed over in the first half of 2020, is over 36 per cent completed.

Nearly 20 per cent of the construction has been finished on Creek Horizon, featuring 556 apartments due for handover in mid-2020, and The Cove, a low-rise waterfront sanctuary, with 276 apartments, is also on track to be delivered in the first half of 2020.

Other upcoming residential developments in Creek Island Dubai are Creek Gate (490 apartments); Creek Rise (543 apartments) and Harbour Gate (505 units). About 15 per cent of the construction on both the projects in now complete, with handover slated to take place throughout 2020.

Creek Island, which will be connected to the mainland by three bridges, will also feature the Creek Marina, which will have a 286-room upscale lifestyle hotel Vida Harbour Point – also expected to open in 2019.

Creek Marina will also feature retail, dining and leisure venues, yachting facilities including a yacht club, three hotels, a promenade, pedestrian walkways, and art installations.

The mega Dubai Creek Harbour – being developed by Emaar and Dubai Holding – features over 7.3 million sq m of residential space, nearly 940,000 sq m of retail precincts, 300,000 sq m of commercial space, over 66,000 sq m of cultural space, 700,000 sq m of parks and open spaces, and 24 hotels with 5,800 rooms.

It will feature the Dubai Creek Tower – set to become the tallest tower in Dubai when complete, as well as Dubai Square, a mega ‘tech-driven’ retail project which will offer 8.07 million sq ft of gross floor retail space – nearly double the gross leasable area of Dubai Mall.

Dubai Creek Harbour will also have schools, hospitals and recreational facilities as well as two Dubai Metro links.

When completed, Dubai Creek Harbour will be home to over 200,000 people.
