Flight delays in Dubai as fog disrupts operations

Dubai Airports has warned of flights delays on Thursday due to disruption caused by heavy fog.

The airport operator has urged passengers to check with their airlines for the latest updates.

Dubai airline Emirates also cautioned passengers about possible delays.

The UAE’s National Centre for Meterology and Seismology (NCMS) warned of increased fog over several parts of the country.

It also posted a video of the mist on the Sharjah-Dhaid road, and advised motorists to drive carefully on the roads.

In its daily bulletin, NCMS projected that the weather will be partly cloudy at times with moderate to fresh winds becoming strong by afternoon especially over the sea.

“This may cause blowing dust over some exposed areas and reduce the horizontal visibility, with further a decrease in temperature,” it said.

The relative humidity is likely to increase during night and tomorrow early morning, especially over internal areas.

It also warned that the sea is rough to very rough in the Arabian Gulf and anticipated to become rough by evening in Oman Sea.
