Home Transport Aviation Flydubai resume flights to additional destinations, expanding network to 24 The airline said more than 240 repatriation flights are scheduled in the upcoming weeks by Aarti Nagraj August 13, 2020 Dubai-based airline flydubai will resume flights to Almaty and Nursultan in Kazakhstan starting next week, further expanding its network as more countries start to lift restrictions on international travel. Starting August 18, flight FZ 1735 to Almaty International Airport will operate twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays. Meanwhile, from August 19, flight FZ 1705 will fly to Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Flights to Almaty and Nursultan will operate from Terminal 2, Dubai International, a statement said. Earlier this week, the carrier also resumed flights to Dhaka, Djibouti and Kuwait, bringing the total number of operational routes on its network to 24 destinations. They include: Addis Ababa (ADD) Dhaka (DAC) Djibouti (JIB) Juba (JUB) Khartoum (KRT) Almaty (ALA) Baku (GYD) Bishkek (FRU) Dushanbe (DYU) Kabul (KBL) Nur-Sultan (NQZ) Belgrade (BEG) Bucharest (OTP) Kyiv (KBP) Prague (PRG) Sarajevo (SJJ) Sofia (SOF) Alexandria (HBE) Baghdad (BGW) Basra (BSR) Beirut (BEY) Erbil (EBL) Kuwait (KWI) Sulaimaniyah (ISU) “More destinations and flight frequencies will continue to be added to the flydubai schedule over the summer subject to government approvals,” the statement said. Flydubai has also operated 831 repatriation flights since March, transporting more than 100,000 passengers to 40 countries. The airline is also continuing to “support government efforts to operate repatriation flights” and more than 240 repatriation flights are scheduled in the upcoming weeks, it said. The airline also stressed that its passenger experience has been redesigned to minimise crew and passenger contact. Every passenger will receive a complimentary snack or meal onboard. During a flight, air is exchanged in the cabin every two to three minutes and is sterile when it enters the cabin after passing through high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters. Flydubai’s aircraft are also disinfected everyday with manufacturer-certified cleaning products. The airline offers the flexibility to make a change to the date of travel, rebook to another flight or destination without any penalties. Any differences in fare may apply and tickets are subject to flydubai’s terms and conditions, it added.
