The new schools will offer 7,000 additional places across the British, American, and the International Baccalaureate curriculum. In April this year, enrollment in the emirate’s private schools crossed 300,000, the highest ever in its history. Private school students in Dubai represent 187 nationalities, while the emirate also hosts 10 branches of international schools, such as the newly-opened Royal Grammar School Guildford and Durham School. UK curriculum schools stood out as the top choice (35 per cent) followed by Indian curriculum (26 per cent), US curriculum schools (16 per cent) and International Baccalaureate (6 per cent), Dubai Media Office reported. This diversity drives further growth by attracting experienced and passionate teachers, and new families who come to Dubai for the world-class education their children will receive.” Dubai is home to a plethora of schools established for specific communities. Last year, the Chinese School Dubai in Mirdif became the first ever institution to offer the Chinese national curriculum for K-12 education outside the country. With a capacity to serve 2000 students, the school offers multiple pathways for graduating students, including a Queensland Certificate of Education or IB Diploma, the statement added. The Japanese School offers a traditional curriculum and a Japanese cultural experience in Dubai. Meanwhile, the German School Dubai (Deutsche Internationale Schule Dubai – DISD) caters to the demand of the emirate’s sizeable German community. The Russian International School located in Muhaisnah teaches the Russian curriculum to 174 students, the majority of whom are Russian nationals.
