Free public parking in Dubai for National Day holidays

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has announced free public parking in the emirate for the UAE’s National Day holidays.

Parking will free on Sunday and Monday – December 2 and 3, with fees resuming from Tuesday, December 4, the RTA said. Parking is not free on Saturday, December 1.

Free parking does not apply to multi-storey parking areas, it added.

The UAE announced that all public and private sector employees will receive two days off to celebrate National Day, on December 2 and 3 (Sunday and Monday), making it a four-day weekend for most workers.

The RTA also revealed changed timings for public transport services during the holidays.

All the vehicle testing centres and customer happiness centres will stay closed from Friday to Monday, with work resuming on Tuesday, December 4.

The RTA headquarters will continue working during the holiday period.

Dubai Metro

The red line and green line stations will remain open from 10am- 1am (the next day) on Friday, November 30.

On Saturday and Sunday – December 1 and 2, the red line stations will stay open from 5am to 1am (the next day), while the green line stations will operate from 5.30am to 1am (the next day).

On Monday, December 3, the red line stations will operate from 5am to 12am, while the green line stations will stay open from 5.30am to 12am.

Dubai Tram

The Dubai Tram will run from 9am to 1am ( the next day) on Friday, November 30 and from 6am to 1am ( the next day) on Saturday, Sunday and Monday (December 1-3).

Bus timings

On Saturday and Sunday, the main bus stations will operate from 4.25am to 12.29am(next day) – Gold Souq- and from 4.14am to 12.33am (next day) – Al Ghubaiba.

The Metro link bus stations will run from 5am to 1.10am (next day) on the two days.
