Home Covid-19 GCC Covid-19 update: 683 infections in UAE, Saudi registers 3,580 cases The death toll in the UAE and Saudi Arabia has risen to 323 and 1,916 respectively by Zainab Mansoor July 5, 2020 UAE The Ministry of Health and Prevention reported 683 new infections and 440 recoveries on Sunday, July 5. The newly diagnosed cases were detected as a result of more than 47,000 tests conducted across the country. Since the outbreak late last year, as many as 51,540 in the UAE have contracted the virus. Meanwhile, the total number of people who have overcome the infection after having contracted it, tally 40,297. The ministry also confirmed one additional Covid-19-induced death, raising the fatality count to 323. Of the newly diagnosed cases, Riyadh posted the highest number (332) followed by Taif (271). The ministry also reported 58 deaths, raising the fatality count to 1,916. The Ministry of Health also confirmed three demises and 520 new recoveries. Meanwhile the total recoveries have increased to 23,959.
