Home Covid-19 GCC Covid-19 update: UAE reports 540 cases; Saudi registers 3,045 infections, 36 deaths The death toll in the UAE and Saudi Arabia has risen to 276 and 712 respectively by Zainab Mansoor June 7, 2020 The Ministry of Health and Prevention in the UAE has reported 540 new Covid-19 cases, as a result of 44,000 tests conducted to screen for the virus. The total number of cases has reached 38,808 of whom 21,806 have now fully recovered. Riyadh reported 717 cases, followed by Makkah (623), Jeddah (351), and Dammam (257). Meanwhile, the kingdom posted 36 deaths, its highest daily death count since the outbreak. Three additional deaths have also been reported, totaling the number of fatalities to 75. The Ministry of Health also confirmed that currently 196 people are receiving treatment at intensive care wards. Bahrain As of June 7, 1.30am local time, Bahrain had 5,252 active Covid-19 cases, of whom 13 were critical. Meanwhile, 25 Covid-19 patients have so far succumbed to the virus. Qatar The Ministry of Public Health reported 1,595 Covid-19 cases and three deaths in the last 24 hours.
