Home Telecoms Mobile Hands-on review: Redmi Note 11 The smartphone features Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor, quad cameras, and a 90Hz AMOLED display by Gulf Business March 23, 2022 Recently, Xiaomi announced the launch of Redmi Note 11 in the UAE. The successor to the Redmi Note 10, it comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor, quad cameras, and a 90Hz AMOLED display. We got the phone for a hands-on review, and here’s what it looks like. Design and display The Redmi Note 11 is a lightweight device that is easy and comfortable to hold. The front features a large display and thin bezels. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner that I found to be fast and accurate, as well as moderate dust protection and modest water resistance (IP53, which means you may use the smartphone in light rain for a few minutes). When it comes to the display, Redmi has made no compromises. The device features an AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The 6.43-inch screen is Full HD+, and the content appears bright. The colours are also rich in detail. Watching movies or YouTube videos was a wonderful experience on this phone. It has a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and a touch sampling rate of up to 180Hz. This ensures that the the smartphone works well in everyday situations. It also features Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which protects the front. Performance and battery life The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor, 6GB RAM, and 128GB internal storage. It’s available in two additional RAM storage configurations: 4GB/64GB and 6GB/64GB, with storage configurable to 1TB via microSD card. In addition, it can switch across apps and scroll through social media feeds seamlessly. The Redmi Note 11 comes with a 5,000mAh battery and supports 33W pro fast charging. The phone could easily last a day and a half on a single charge. So if you choose to watch many movies or play many video games, it will easily last a day. A 33W fast charger included in the box takes around 60 minutes to fully charge the device from 0 to 100 per cent. Camera The Redmi Note 11 has a quad-camera setup on the back that includes a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. It sports a 13MP selfie camera on the front. The main camera captures fine details and vibrant colours. Portrait mode has a nice amount of bokeh. Meanwhile, the 8MP ultrawide lens is ideal for capturing photographs with less detail. Furthermore, the 13MP selfie camera produces high-quality photos. In the sunlight, portrait photographs look amazing, and the bokeh effect may be tweaked. Sound and connectivity The Redmi Note 11 comes with stereo speakers that work flawlessly. You also get a secondary mic for noise cancellation. It does not, however, have 5G connection. Despite the availability of better technologies, Xiaomi maintained the device’s connectivity choices at wi-fi 5 and bluetooth 5.0. The fingerprint sensor on the side works nicely in terms of security. Overall, the phone has a easy-to-use display, a long battery life, and a good camera capabilities. The smartphone nonetheless provides a well-rounded user experience despite lacking Android 12, 5G, and super-powerful gaming features.
