The workers, identified as Indian nationals, were working on a underground portion of the piping project. Despite efforts to save them, the workers were found dead, engulfed in mud and rainwater. “Despite the heavy rainfall, the workers were carrying out the work at the site,” a Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA) official told Times of Oman. “They were positioned inside the tunnel, but suddenly, the rainwater came in, and they could not make it outside.
