The scholarship, also known as the HWUD Community Award, will offer students a fee reduction of Dhs8,000 for the September 2021 intake. Claire Roper-Browning, regional director – marketing, recruitment, admissions and communications at Heriot-Watt University Dubai, said: “Ramadan represents a time of reflection, togetherness, and generosity. The HWUD Community Award is inspired by these very values and is our way of giving back to our local communities. We hope to help aspiring students achieve their academic potential through this scholarship and bring them one step closer to their desired future.” This scholarship is available to any student (foundation, undergraduate or postgraduate) applying and paying the tuition fee deposit by May 15, 2021. Students must apply and pay 10 per cent of their tuition fees as a non-refundable, advance payment to secure the scholarship. The Community Award amount will be distributed equally across the instalment plan for the first year of study. Students should have an unconditional or a conditional offer letter from HWUD in order to become eligible for this scholarship. Students with a conditional offer letter must provide the remaining documents in order to proceed with receiving an unconditional one before the start of the academic year. UAE-based students must also provide the required post-dated cheques for the payment of their tuition fees. Heriot-Watt University Dubai will also move to its new campus at Dubai Knowledge Park next month, which will support the overall delivery of several programmes, which include Data Science, Construction and Engineering, Accounting and Finance, Psychology, Architecture and Design, and Computing and AI.
