Home Industry Technology Hitachi Energy delivers grid connection solution for Qatar’s Al Kharsaah solar PV plant The grid integration solution connects the solar photovoltaic plants to the national power grid, helping Qatar toward its 2030 emission reduction goal by Divsha Bhat October 19, 2022 Hitachi Energy has delivered its grid connection solution for Qatar’s Al Kharsaah solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant – the country’s first utility-scale solar PV park. It is situated 80 kilometres west of Doha – which was inaugurated today by Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar. Al Kharsaah has a generating capacity of around 800 megawatts. It will avoid 26 million metric tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions during its operating life and help Qatar progress toward its goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 25 per cent by 2030.
