Home GCC Saudi Arabia In pics: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s regional tour The Crown Prince left Turkey on Wednesday, June 22, bringing an end to his regional tour that also took him to Egypt and Jordan by Zubina Ahmed June 24, 2022 Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s regional tour started in Egypt this week on Monday, June 20. He then visited Jordan and closed his trip with Turkey on Wednesday, June 22. During his regional tour, he held bilateral meetings with each country’s leaders. The purpose was to review aspects of trade, economy, energy, defense and recent regional and international events among other issues. A few highlights of his tour are shown in the following pictures. Saudi Crown Prince with Egyptian President Abdelfattah El-Sisi The Crown Prince met Egyptian President Abdelfattah El-Sisi at Al-Ittihadiya Palace in Cairo on June 20. According to the official Saudi Press Agency, they signed 14 agreements worth $7.7bn, which include infrastructure, renewable energy projects, green hydrogen, medicine and e-commerce. Saudi Arabia-based Alfanar Global Development signed agreements worth SAR2bn ($532m) with the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation and Benya Holding Group, at the headquarters of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones in Cairo. According to an economic report issued by the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce, the volume of Saudi exports to the Jordanian market amounted to SAR11.6bn and Jordanian imports to the Saudi market amounted to SAR5bn. While the volume of Saudi investments in Jordan amounts to $14bn, across 900 projects. The figures were cited during this visit. This was his first trip to the country since he became the Crown Prince.
