Home World Middle East Increasing Sales For Volkswagen ME The German car company delivered 11,000 vehicles in the region during 2011, recording a 21 per cent sales growth for the year. by Aarti Nagraj January 24, 2012 Volkswagen Middle East recorded a 21 per cent growth in car sales during 2011, delivering 11,000 vehicles in the region. According to the German car brand, the models that performed well in the region were the All-New Jetta, the Touareg -with a 71 per cent increase in 2011, and the Golf -with a 27 per cent sales increase for the year. “2011 saw the launch of the All-New Jetta which has been very successful since its launch in May. Other models including the Golf R and Tiguan were also added to our range and have greatly contributed to our 21 percent growth in the region,” Stefan Mecha, managing director of Volkswagen Middle East said in a statement. Volkswagen’s fleet business in the region also increased, with sales rising by 20 per cent in 2011.The company introduced the first Volkswagen taxi fleet in Qatar during the year in collaboration with Mowasalat – the Qatar Transport Company. It also supplied 300 All-New Jetta taxis to Karwa Taxi Services. This year, the company announced that it plans to launch the Passat at the Qatar Motor Show, and the New Polo Sedan during the latter half of the year. 0 Comments
