Home Transport Aviation Indian low-cost carrier IndiGo to launch flights to Sharjah The airline will begin daily direct flights between Sharjah and Kozhikode from March 20 by Aarti Nagraj February 6, 2017 Indian low-cost carrier IndiGo has announced plans to launch daily direct flights to Sharjah starting next month. It will launch a daily non-stop route between Sharjah and Kozhikode from March 20, while another route between Sharjah and Thiruvananthapuram will begin from April 8. From March 20, flight 6E 1403 will depart from Kozhikode at 6.05am and arrive in Sharjah at 8.20am. The return flight 6E 1404 will leave Sharjah airport at 9.20am and arrive in Kozhikode at 2.30pm. IndiGo also announced plans to increase its services to Oman’s capital Muscat with the launch of a new direct flight from Kozhikode. Also operational from March 20, flight 6E 1303 will depart from Kozhikode at 6.25pm and arrive in Muscat at 8.15pm. The return flight 6E 1401 will depart from the Omani capital at 9.15pm and arrive in Kozhikode at 2.15am (the next day). All the new routes will be operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft. Aditya Ghosh, president of IndiGo said: “Middle-East has been an important market for IndiGo and expanding operations to Sharjah and Muscat is a testament to the growing demand from the sector. We are hopeful that these new flights will prove to be immensely popular among flyers.” Sharjah is IndiGo’s sixth international destination.
