Home Transport Aviation Iran Air to buy 80 planes from Boeing The planes will be delivered over 10 years, according to IRNA by Staff Writer December 11, 2016 Iran Air has signed a $16.6 deal for 80 aeroplanes with US manufacturer Boeing, local news agency IRNA reported. The publication cited managing director of the Civil Aviation Organization of Islamic Republic of Iran Farhad Parvaresh as confirming the deal. He said deliveries would take place over a 10-year period and include 50 Boeing 737s and 30 Boeing 777s. Fletcher Barkdull, a Boeing regional director, was quoted as saying the deal was worth $16.6bn and had been approved by the US government. Earlier in the year, Boeing confirmed it had received an order for 100 jetliners from the Islamic Republic, its first deal since the country’s 1979 revolution.
