Kazakh low-cost airline FlyArystan launched its first flight from Almaty to Sharjah in the UAE earlier this week.

The Almaty-Sharjah-Almaty flights will operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Sundays.

Serviced by an Airbus A320 aircraft, the flight duration is 4 hours and 25 minutes.

On both Tuesdays and Sundays, it will depart from Almaty at 8.30am and land in Sharjah at 10.55am. The return flight will take off from Sharjah at 11.55am and land in Almaty at 5.45pm.

Madiyar Menilbekov, Kazakh Ambassador to the UAE, said that the launch of the new flight will help strengthen relations between the two countries. He added that the UAE is the fourth country to which FlyArystan flies after Turkey, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan.

From June 21, the airline is planning to operate its first flight to Uzbekistan.

FlyArystan was founded in 2018 and began operating its flights in 2019. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Air Astana, and has a fleet of 10 Airbus aircraft. FlyArystan plans to grow its fleet to at least 15 by 2022.

At the 2019 Dubai Airshow, FlyArystan announced a letter of intent to purchase 30 Boeing 737-8 Max jets with a list price value of $3.6bn.
